It’s that time already! Weekend Guide time!
Tonight, Friday June 7th, hit up Iam8bit (2147 Sunset Blvd) for their opening show of 80 artists from “Around the Earth Fulfilling their Retro Gaming Fantasies!” Opening night is tonight and has tunes spinning by DJ R-Rated from 7p-11p. Free admission.
Also tonight is the creepiest/coolest thing I’ve read about in a while. Great Horror Campout happens tonight and Saturday night from 8pm-8am in LA’s Historic State Park in Chinatown. You’ll be lucky to make it through the night (sort of like every night in LA). This is a frightening campout, click the link to read about it and get tickets.
Tomorrow, Saturday June 8th, is another Silverlake Craft and Vintage. Go check it out and get some cheap awesome goodness.
Or are you more of a naked bike rider? Because World Naked Bike Ride: Los Angeles 2013 is happening on Saturday! RSVP to get the meeting location.
Want to go to dinner and a show tomorrow night? Dublab is hosting a special dinner for the bi-annual Proton Drive fundraiser. There will be dj’s, live music, food, beer, fun, and so much more at 3416 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles (Atwater Village).
Unf*ck The World Day is this weekend at the Bootleg Theater. 7pm doors, $10 ticket online ($12 at the door). Money goes to a good cause and it’s a night full of music.
And if this isn’t enough, Saturday is a FREE day in the Angeles National Forest. No adventure pas needed for your car. Yay!
And of course, this weekend is the Jubilee! It was formally the Silver Lake Jubilee. Now it’s moved downtown to the warehouse district. It’s got comedy and music (like the Black Lips, The Drums and Trash Talk). Get tickets for Saturday!
On Sunday the Natural History Museum celebrates it’s 100th birthday with a bash! On Sunday from 9a-11p there will be food trucks, workshops, demos, and even Devo and GZA taking the stage once it gets dark. Tickets are $25 for a day/night of awesome.
